BraeLynne, Ethan, and Ashley. The funniest part about the unwrapping was the frenzied, glazed look that Ethan got as he frantically unwrapped one, set it to the side, and grabbed for another. I don't think he really saw much of anything after the Batman figurines.

Our last trip to Vegas.

Cam had to go back to Vegas to take a test for school. So even though he was stressed about the test, we decided to make it into a vacation. Haley came along to keep me company while Cam was at school.

This is us at Stateline about to ride one of the tallest, fastest, steepest and longest roller coasters in the world. In fact, when it opened in 1993, it was THE tallest and fastest roller coaster in the entire world!

Well, do you?

After Stateline, we went to Ethan's favorite place... Chuckie Cheese's!

From the look on his face, you might be able to guess that its on his list of top places to go...

Even Zack had tons of fun. He played on every game in the place at least once... and we didn't even have to put any tokens in.

I love the age before the realize they aren't doing anything.

Cam is still in that age. He's been playing that game for 15 minutes and hasn't been given one token. Poor thing, he thinks he's winning.

Ice Blocking

Yes, we went ice blocking. No, we didn't get chased by a golf course marshal. In fact, I checked before going... ice blocking isn't even illegal! Almost took all the fun out of it.

Golf courses just don't like it 'cause it ruins their grass. So we went to the park.

Even though ice blocking isn't illegal, that's not to say we didn't have a little "run in" with the law... but that's another story...

I happened to look in the dictionary for the definition of the word "hooligan". It reads: "hoo.li.gan - (hoo'li gen) a hoodlum, esp. a young one. Pl. form hooligans; see figure above." And sure enough, it had the picture of Logan, Haley, Mickell, Brianna, and Keaton behind blocks of ice!

These guys make this look like a cinch. Stylish AND fun.

Look at this princess on double duty! Two frogs at one time makes two princes at one time. How economical.

So if the frogs kiss Mickell, will she turn into a frog? Hmmmm...

I think we may have permanently affected the frog population at the park.

The Tea Party

What first comes to mind when you hear the following words: Springtime, girls only, tea, crumpets, crouqet, sun dresses, and floppy hats? Of course... a tea party.

Kayla and Desi coordinated and hosted a tea party that would make Martha Stewart tinkle in her panties.

Here are some of the guests: Mandy Redd (cousin), Desi Zetterquist (co-hostess), Kayla (hostess), Autumn Reid (cousin), Kodye Porter (sister).

What a beautiful setting! All we need is a few stuffed animals to fill the remaining chairs, and this fantasy-come-true would be complete.

Boys Will Be Boys...

Uh oh... he's got that naughty look on his face!

See the new trick he's learned? Not only has he learned to climb onto the table, but he climbs chairs (pushed in or out), bikes, wheels, couches, beds, pets, and stairs... pretty much anything relatively stationary. He just has that "bad boy" look to him, doesn't he?

Defiant, and even teaching his brother the tricks of the trade... No Ethan! Stay your Dad's son! Don't listen to your Mom's son!

The Las Vegas Air Show

Cam's Words:

This is us at the air show with Kayla's nephew Keaton... he's the crazy teen in the middle photo. We'd never been to the air show before. And it was so awesome. We all went down to Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas. They had some of the sweetest planes doing the sweetest stunts. The kids all really enjoyed it too... until the F/A-22 Raptors started doing some tricks. It wasn't very loud until the engine was turned towards us... I was exhilarated... the kids freaked out! They were both screaming and crying. From then on, it was kind of a hassle. But I would still highly recommend it to anyone who has never been... just don't forget ear plugs for those who may need them.

This is one of those huge carrier planes (You can see it in the background of the middle picture). It opens up at the rear (shown) and just as much at the nose, too. That way they can just drive their jeeps (or whatever) straight in and straight out. Very cool. We used the wings as shade for the whole show.

We decided to have a "Hero-Princess" Birthday party. It went very well, we had everything from the honored guest, Batman, to a starter on the local football team.

"I'm Batman... but don't run 'cause I can't see well enough to catch you..."

Life doesn't get any better... yeah, I'm Superman, and I have a beautiful princess bottle-feeding me. You got a problem with that?

***Note*** This is Cam speaking: The purpose of the facial hair (something I don't normally approve of) is an effort to help my soon-to-be-patients feel more at ease with my helping them. I have a baby face, and to help me look older (and thereby, more "capable" of treating them), I decided facial hair is the way to go. But, if by growing this goatee, I look more like a "hooligan" (or pervert... as Kayla says), that would be counter-productive. Comments are welcome... and after all that I hear from Kayla, I don't get offended easily...

(Further, I know it looks pathetic now, but I'm not done growing it. I don't want to make it long, but you need to give me at least a month to get "normal" looking. Afterall, I just hit puberty last week.)

Ethan really likes to wake up at the butt crack of dawn, but Cam and I don't. It may make us bad parents, but we turn the TV to PBS before we go to bed with the hopes that Ethan will watch cartoons, giving us an additional 30 minutes of sleep instead of waking us up.

This morning, Cam told Ethan to "go watch cartoons". A few minutes later, he heard Ethan whining and walked out to find Ethan "dressing himself".

He was stuck like that. Even more, those clothes he is "wearing" are what Ethan found in his dirty clothes hamper. What a goofball. Well, at least he's trying...

Cake Decorating

A few weeks ago, I decided I was turning into an old ninny because I never do anything but hang out in my house. I don't know how cake decorating is a remedy for that, but so far I feel much less ninny-ish. I just made my first cake... I know, don't laugh, I've seen better too, but it was a lot of fun to make. And no, the pretty rainbow wasn't my idea. Next week we're making a creepy clown cake. It should be fun. I'll keep you posted. Hopefully, next weeks cake will be better.

I'm freaking out, I don't know how it happened... Zac is just growing too fast. The poor guy just got his 2nd tooth, and he's had a rough time getting this one in.

He's so different than his brother was. I like to look through the pictures of Ethan at the same age, so I included one. I love this picture of Ethan .

Something new!

It's been a while since I have added anything to our blog. So here it is:

Things are going well for our family. Cam just started his final session of classes. Woohoo! Come November it's "Adios Las Vegas!" We had a lot of fun during Cam's session break.

Cam spoiled me rotten for my birthday. He took me to Lawry's Prime Rib Steakhouse (really awesome by the way ) and The Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian. I had never seen Phantom before so I was a little nervous about staying awake through it, but it was so good I definitely didn't fall asleep.

Two days later my favorite holiday, other than my birthday, the Fourth of July. We spent part of the day at the new splash park in St. George with Deja and her boys. Cam went crazy on fireworks. We had so many they actually put a bunch of fireworks in a bucket with gasoline and lit them on fire. They tried to blow up an SUV with a $25 firework. It was great.

Then we went camping on top of Thousand Lake Mountain, with my family. I caught a fish... well... Blake caught a fish and handed me the pole, but hey, I'll take it. Here's a picture from the top of the mountain, overlooking Capitol Reef National Park.

It was so nice to be together as a family. I loved my brothers being together. The kids all had so much fun together.

Ethan set new records for filthy. We camped 3 nights so we were all pretty dirty, but then Ethan got car sick on the way home, and threw up all over himself.
It was bad, but not the end of the gross.
About a hour later he said he needed to pee so we stopped on the side of the road to let him take care of business. Everything was coming out fine until our confused little boy tried to poop standing up; for those of you who haven't tried it... DON'T! It's messy. Needless to say, the rest of the trip was a little smellier. Oh and we can't forget Zack who also exploded on the way home, but all poop aside, it was a great camping trip.

Sunny San Diego

We have been busy here the last month. My sister-in-law, Jennifer, and I went on a road trip to San diego, before I had surgery. My mom got stuck with the kids for 3 days. She still swears she likes them though. We stayed in a bungalow on the beach. It was kind of a odd little place, but fun. We ended up La Jolla, it was beautiful. It's a preserve of sorts. There were seals, and tons of creatures in the tide pools. We spent hours looking at all the different animals and kidnapping hermit crabs for Jens salt water tank (Although I don't think they made it home alive). After we left San Diego we drove up the coast to Redondo beach. All the pictures are from La Jolla. I can't wait to go back

Podunk Easter!

This year we spent Easter weekend in Fillmore. We wanted to spend time with Grandma Stephenson for her Birthday. On Saturday we made the most of our little Easter by coloring eggs. I call it podunk because we didn't have any of our fun Easter baskets, so we used Walmart grocery bags. It was just as fun for the kids though,and it was great to spend time with Family.
